Yesterday I posted an inquiry into people’s opinions on posting reviews, or thoughtful commentary, on why they didn’t finish reading a book. But I thought, “Why not do utilize that dandy poll feature WordPress offers?” And here it is in all of its glory:

I didn’t reply in the last post but I can’t think of a time I reviewed a book I didn’t finish. If I didn’t finish it, I don’t think I can write a review. I could post and say why I stopped reading it and what I did and didn’t like so far but I wouldn’t consider that an actual review.
Comment by Callista November 20, 2008 @ 12:14 pmIt’s neck and neck! So exciting!
Comment by Andi November 20, 2008 @ 4:24 pmCallista: An interesting perspective that introduces a thoughtful topic of “what is a review?”. Thanks!
Andi: We’ll see how exciting it turns out. ;) But at least I’m not the only person who has written about unfinished books!
Comment by bookchronicle November 21, 2008 @ 2:25 pmI said “no” and the reason being that I’ll probably try to pick up the book again one day and then review it for real. There are very very very few books that I abandon forever (it may be years, but I have every intention of going back to them!)
Comment by Trish November 21, 2008 @ 8:36 pmI use to, but have changed how I have done things. I don’t read passed 25 pages if I don’t like the book. No more hoping a book will get better. I just close the book and move on to another book. There too many to on the nightstand. :)
Comment by J. Kaye November 21, 2008 @ 9:50 pmI have posted notes along the way but I usually state very clearly that the notes don’t reflect a full review. :)
